Hi guys -

When using my red on my ronin I seem to still see a bit of bounce in my footage as I'm walking. What would I do to fix this? Stiffness?

Additionally what are your settings for pan speed, deadband etc?

Sorry if this is in the wrong thread.

Thank you,

Scott

I don't have a Ronin (MoVI for me), but with any of these gimbals, the bounce is something you can't really 100% get rid of, unless you're using a serene arm/steadicam or something like that. I've been operating the MoVI for quite some time now. Without using an extra stabilizer, you can keep your arms fluid, and roughly at a 90 degree angle (bending at the elbow). Don't lock your arms though. Keep them as close to your body without having your elbows touch. Doing so, your arms will almost act like suspension springs and take out some of that bounce. You can also "roll" onto your feet, like people do in marching bands (don't walk flat-footed) which will also reduce vertical movement. If you can, shooting high speed also smooths things out as well.

You need a serene arm (flowcine.com) / easy rig combo.......or a lot of practice walking like a ninja ;). These things aren't plug and play, a lot of testing and practicing are necessary, at least to get perfectly stable tracking footage.
