Yep, just posted them because they were something different... Got lots of stuff from that day, most of it crap. Like I said, we were just testing some things and goofing around. Yes, should've used a polarizer, but I didn't even get it out of the box. I didn't want to screw with the clip-on sunshade for this lens that holds it. In some ways, I'm kinda sorry I posted the two pictures... I think a lot of people assume that whenever someone posts something, they're trying to show off their best work. Actually, some of this rocks footage is pretty good after doing a color pass on it. ...Look at what Rudi is doing with the crappy 8bit JPEG files - in which the colorspace is jammed into REC709 with nothing done to them other than setting the ISO and WB in REDCINE before I spit out a snapshot. But in short, as posted they're a bit under exposed and shot under terribly harsh lighting conditions. I would never shoot a real project under these conditions with the limited equipment and crew (myself and another fellow reduser) unless it was a live event with no choice and even then I would still bring the poper gear and people.

Shot some interior stuff the same day, all hand-held 2K with the Peleng 8mm walking around the mall. Some of it overcranked. I was able to answer some questions I've had by shooting this -- overcranking with various types of light sources, noise and how it plays a role with overcranking and strobing fluorescents, etc... But no way in hell will I post images / clips from it because I think I know what the general commentary will be.

I guess while I'm nit-picking those who are nit-picking my images, I'll clue a few people in onto one thing I was testing. There is an image anomaly clearly visible in the second rocks picture I posted and I'm sure it's caused by IR contamination. Anyone else see it? I'm surprised no one has made note of it and associated it with poor image processing. Here's the image again... See anything odd? Admittedly, it's much more pronounced in the 4K original. I bet Rudi has seen it in his color grading.

Great shot Jeff.

Naturalist looks good. But I agree with the "get up earlier" comment. Shooting landscapes mid-day in color is sacrilege!
