Hey All,

Doing a red job with 2 x heliums shooting at 8k Ana 2x. When I open redcine x I get the little triangle in the top right and it says that this media cannot be de-coded by red rocket x...reverting to GPU mode.

Any thoughts? I thought RRX worked with helium media/clips

Something to do with the IPP2 thingy?

Red rocket is in thunderbolt enclosure.
Mac Pro 12 core w/ D700s

I am pretty sure that RED Rocket-x is only for Dragon.

That is not correct. It does work with Helium footage. We were using it for the last 4 or 5 months on a very well known show for Netflix. It does require a bit of understanding as to exactly what it will and will not do, but for most software that supports it, it does at the very least accelerate rendering (to a degree) and allow for smooth playback.

I stand corrected. I will add that I get smooth playback on Helium 8K without any external cards on my system, so have never really needed one.

So from your understanding, why is the card not able to de-code that media?

Redcine X
No other errors except for cant de code

Maybe try un-selecting reloading redcine-x and then re-selecting it and restarting it again. or restarting your machine

I definatly tried this, but maybe not enough. I was on set with only so much time to trouble shoot
