I really want to sell as a kit. But would consider taking the laptop out for $1K less.
I have to test to see, but for sure 1/2 plays back real time at all resolutions. I have really only used it as a rendering station, not much as a playback station. But will test and post details.

An AC at my office ran a test and it plays through at 24 fps up to 6K HD at 1/2 res.
He did not plug in a monitor though. I will do that before Thursday.

He ran another test and it appears to be fine up to 6K 1/4 on an external monitor, but says at that resolution it "needs to load for a bit".
Not sure if that helps, Brody et. al., but that's what we came up with.
It's funny, I always think of it as a transcoding device, not a playback device. Usually we have a dedicated VTR guy running a Q-take or some portable device just for client playback. Are you just looking to see color corrected clips in motion?
Anyway, let me know if that's the info you were looking for.
