Hi All,
I'm about to buy a Rocket for many reasons, but first primary reason we'll be using it for is making SD DVD renders for dailies, we are pc based, but am willing to get a mac for use with rocket, is it true at the moment, only way to use rocket for viewing dailies over hdsdi and taking advantage of fast debayering for renderring sd dailies for example would be to use a mac with red alert/rushes?
If anyone can confirm this would be great, and any timeline on pc support would also be cool.
I did not read this entire thread so I'm sorry if this has already been posted.
EDIT: I see hdsdi is working from previous posts.
THanks
Hi Troy,
If you are PC based, a new company, created by most of the team from Chrome Imaging, makers of the high end color correction platform Matrix : Marquise Technologies, have released a new software called MIST, as in Media Ingest Stream Transcode, which can make the most of a number of harware cards, at least : Bluefish, NVidia and RED Rocket™.
This can be used for realtime transcode of .r3d and a wide number of other formats, including primary color correction.
They are presently working on implementing secondaries to make a full blown color correction application.
Please see the thread I started in the Workflow section : http://www.reduser.net/forum/showthread.php?t=37548
Cheers,
Damien
Troy,
I'll be happy to do this but won't be able to until next week.
Good to know for all of us. Transcoding to ProResHQ1080 23.98FPS on Snowleopard with a Nehalem 8Core 2.26 12GB Ram I'm getting about 17-18FPS. I'm curious to test SD but I haven't had time...
What format for SD? Hoping you're not going to say MPEG2 for DVD:-(
Any news on the portable rocket availability and price?
thanks
g
Any moment now. We are resolving some manufacturing issues...
Cheers

Yes indeed, very good question. We've been waiting now, what? 4 months?
Hey Deanan, what's the deal here? Are we going to see a Linux SDK at some point or...?
Guys, anywhere I can find a PDF or something explaining how the BWF stuff works on the RocketCine-X
UPDATE, if I export a QT it comes out perfectly synced, its only when playing out of the rocket.
