Hey guys, does the RED ROCKET speed up transcoding for 5D Footage too? I know 5D BAD! But I'd love to cash in a bit on some transcoding jobs when the RR is not working with my EPIC!

Thanks!!

Justin
5d doesn't need to be decoded, it runs beautyfly as it is:)
sorry Justin, could not resist

I have to say the 5D has been good to me over the last year.. Paid for my EPIC, so feel free to say whats on your mind ;-) lol

Nope just have a computer with as many cores as you can afford and make good use of Streamclip's threaded jobs feature.
Thank you Hudson.. Looking at building a system with a 12 Core EEK! expensive!! Hahaha

Heres a tip.. use ROO VID to transcode.. Happens real time and will transcode up to 4 streams at once (on our 12 core) mostly two streams in a laptop, but still very fast.

Just did a quick test in my laptop then, converted a 2 minute HD h264 clip into PRORES in 2 mins 5 seconds...
