RED Rocket question

Hey all,

Sorry if this seems a dumb question or if it's been covered, I have a slight case of information overload today.

As I understand it, the RED Rocket ships with DVI adapter cables only and for HD-SDI output requires the forthcoming Breakout Box. I have the nagging suspicion that I may be mistaken.

So, does the RED Rocket ship with any way to output HD-SDI or is it only DVI at the moment?

Hey Bruce,

Yes the card does ship with the ability to output both single and dual-link HD-SDI. However it is with the slot filler that Curran's picture shows, so you either need an open slot on your computer for it or you have to get creative. Right now I have it feeding out the empty optical drive bay on a mac pro.

can i play with redrocket 4K files , downconvert it to HD 1920x1080 and record it with HD-SDI to some recorders like HDCAM in realtime?
