Hi,

I just installed a Red Rocket (BT) on a Windows 7 64 bit system. Installation was no problem, evrey worked fine. But after 2 Hours suddenly the power switched off and the computer restartet - but the power switched off after a few seconds again. I tried many things, checked all cables etc. Sometime the computer works for while - but then the power is switeched off again. Then I removerd the Red Rocket and everything works fine - no power failures any more! Has anybody heard of problems like this? Does anybody know if its possible to return the RR and get new one?

Thanks for Your help!

Josef

The Red Rocket is probably quite a power hungry card - it may be your computer's power supply is underrated for the additional power load, and overheating. This would explain the power downs after a time delay.

The other possibility is a faulty fan or blocked vent somewhere - either in the power supply, on a graphics card or on the Red Rocket. Check all your fans are spinning freely and working.

Hi!

I check all fans - everthing is fine. I use a 1200 Watt power supply - should be ok!? I use a dual CPU mainboard, a powerfull ATI graphic card and the RR.

Problem still there!

I installed RED_Rocket_Installer_v1.3.5c! Could a driver and firmware update solve my problem? Or do I get new problems with Adobe After Effects/Premiere CS5?

Any further help?

Thanks in advance!

Josef

Hmm. 1200W should be adequate for almost anything you can stuff in a computer case! To confirm you mean 1.2kW not 120W?

Battle tested Red Rocket cards have a short warranty - contact Red support immediately with your problem.
