[FS: RED Gear] Red Rocket OR fast video card

[Leroy Jackson]

I have a 2009 Mac Pro with 8 cores @ 2.66GHZ 16GB of DDR3 memory @1066ghz
2 500GB SSD in RAID 0. mY QUESTION IS...... Should I get a red rocket for my 4-5k footage?
Or should I just get a super fast video card like the Nvidia Titan?

I'm prolly gonna be upgrading to 12 cores within the same machine sooner or later!

Thansk Leroy

Nvidia Titan is better than the Red Rocket but the Red Rocket X is better than the titan for 5k+ footage.

Could also consider a Cubix w/ 3-4 780 TI's

I found original red rocket to be faster than a titan on OSX for r3d playback and render.

Red rocks are getting cheaper maybe I'll pick one up.

I'm selling the Maxx Digital Mobile Rocket Thunderbolt with the Red Rocket card installed. I've bought it in November 2013 so it still under the one year warranty. I'm selling it because I'm upgrading to Dragon.
Let me know if you're interested.

Thanks.
