  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Red rocket in Sonnet Thunderbold chassis with Adobe Premiere

Update me when you ready to ship ..Rocket card waiting.

Maxx Digital is also working with our suppliers on Thunder Bolt. The reality is that NO ONE will be shipping product before Q-1 and maybe later. We will have a TB solution and we also are hoping to be able to upgrade our existing MR customers when the time comes. At this time TB info is close to the vest and as we progress through the process we will let our customers know .

does this setup run faster than the maxx digital mobile rocket? Hope to upgrade my mobile system to thunderbolt - would be nice If we could fit the Quadro card card inside also for cuda or a second red rocket for HDR.

OTOH, the 27" iMac has dual Thunderbolt ports... Hmm.... :)

That's what I've been wondering, if I can hook up this with Rocket card and Nvidia graphics card in a single chassis, to a 27'' iMac: http://www.tuaw.com/2011/09/07/magma-announces-three-slot-thunderbolt-expansion-chassis/

And figure out how to install the whole thing in a peli case, for the perfect lightweight DIT-in-the-box setup, to maximize the speed versus portability issues.

would that work, Jeff?

Kinda interesting. The post production devision of our company just got an IDENTICAL box branded under the name of "Netstor" Only difference is our "host" port is SAS. The package also comes with a matching PCIe SAS card for a desktop tower. This makes me wonder. When Magma begins to ship these things in December does that also mean there will finally be a PCIe Thunderbolt card on the market? Thunderbolt Mac Pro? Here is the box we just got: http://www.netstor.com.tw/_03/03_02.php?ODI

I had two slot magma (x8 speed native but x1 when it is connected via Expresscard) and the RR and GT120 worked fine. With the less fans installed in the Magma, I won't put the Quadro in it though. Probably uses up too much bandwidth anyways.
