I am rendering out of Redcinex, pro-res 1280X720, but i am not sure if when i go to color that i am grading the R3D files, how do i re-link to them?

color is still doing strange things, and seems to have more bugs than color 1.

There is a RED tab in color, but it is greyed out?

any thoughts appreciated. thanks.

Export XML from FCP

Use clipfinder and run CONFORM ON FCP XML.

Open NEW xml in Color.
SAVE
OPen Color project in Clipfinder and RUN COLOR BUG FIX.

Open in color project and everything will be relinked to the R3D's

that's great thanks for the advice. :hat:

You can also do this by loading all of your R3D files into a Cinema Tools database, then pointing Color to that database as the source clips directory. It will then give you full R3D grading in Color.

Sure I'll give you two places to go for the RED/Cinema Tools workflow. The RED FCS 3 white paper that is included with the FCS 3 RED plugin installer gives a good outline of the process starting on page 21 with Workflow 3: Work Offline Using ProRes;
Reconform to Native REDCODE Media Using Cinema Tools and Color:

And I do a step by step with screenshots in my book as well in the Final Cut Pro chapter:
