  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Red Rock Micro Follow Focus Version 2

ill be getting one, possibly with the 19mm attachment, any red owners in the Eastern Massachusetts area are welcome to test it out

Hi Zac, I live a bit far away - the West Coast of Australia.

Anyway, there are some good reviews around of it so I will probably buy it as well.
 
You know, I know the guys at FreshDV mean well, but I've watched a few of those reviews and it's clear that they've never spent a real amount of time with any of the units.

One example is that I've seen him refer a couple times to "this unit is reversible", and then proceeds to move the gear over to the other side of the arm or gearbox...not the same kind of "reversible" that will get you where you need to go with Nikons or the like.

Then there was "this thingy here" when pointing to the marking disc.

Kinda only helpful to the freshest newbies.
 
Are any of you using the V2 on larger lenses, like the Red 18-50?
I have one of the first Redrock follow focus units that came out and if I keep it I need to update the gears and wheel (free upgrade to get rid of the play) and then I have to buy the upgrade.
I was going to use the Scarlet S35 with SLR lenses, but after seeing that 18-35 yesterday, I want to make sure the V2 will work with the larger lenses.
