Hi there,

I was wondering how the Slowmotion capabilities are for the Raven. I'm specifically speaking of the 2k 240p and 4k 120p which is awesome, though I figured that the compression rates aren't that great. Do you get a great quality picture withe the good post possibilities? So would be great to get some feedback!

I would also be interested how it compares to the FS5 12op 4k and 240p 2k (with external recorder) if anybody got the chance to compare them.

Thanks & Cheers

I shot some stuff that was 300fps in 2k and it looked great

Though I didnt account for the stupid strobing of the lights in the pavilion we were testing in,

This is all available light

I did have to adjust mentally for the crop, since it feels like shooting on the BMCC when at lower RES in terms of DOF

Raven does 4k at 120 in a 13:1 compression which is still very usable.

Haven't played with slow motion on the FS5, however its hard to beat the benefits of R3D in post.

@Elias Tejeda For the light strobe you should check out flicker free from digital anarchy . It saved my ass on a couple clips that had cheaper LEDs in the background causing shit.

The Raven has excellent slomo quality. Here is the first music video I filmed a few months ago with my new Raven. Quite a bit of it was filmed in 134fps in 4.5K WS 15:1 compression with a couple of shots towards the end in 2K 300fps. I just finished filming another with even more shots done in 4.5K 134fps.
