Has anyone ever dealt with Tony or Cinemartin? I purchased this camera from him and through some delayed shipping issues I received a pelican case with no camera in it. Dealing with UPS as a stolen or lost item as they claim they definitely shipped it. UPS may not go through on the insurance as well because UPS is the worst.

I noticed Tony is now banned from the forum and just curious as to why or if anyone else has sealed with him or Cinemartin.
 
Sounds like the classic bait and switch scam method . Never dealt with him, but Cinemartin always seemed like a sketchy/ shady operation. I'm so sorry you have to go through this mess. I've been down that road a few times...it's no fun :(

Keep us updated as to what happens.
 
I very nearly bought the same camera from him and through doing so we spoke on Whatsapp for a while but couldn't come to an agreement. I will send you the number I have via private message.

After agreeing on a price, we wired the money as requested. This was over the holidays so we expected a bit of delay of it getting to him as well as him shipping the camera. He then sold us on adding an purchasing a mini mag and card reader. So we wired another payment and he'd throw it in the pelican. We requested him ship via FedEx due to our experiences with them and customs. We sent a Fedex label and even scheduled a pick up for him. He insisted that we use UPS because there was a drop off point across the street where we then pushed back and suggested FedEx. He delayed shipping for maybe a week and a half while our money was just sitting in his account. He kept telling us that we were being too pushy and that we had to do what he, they buyer, wanted. We couldn't understand because in my opinion nothing is easier then having someone basically ship the camera for you and pick it up.

Eventually he finally sent the package and we received the tracking. When it arrived, all of the items were missing except for the Jetpack and the Pelican itself...
I've reached out to his company and boss. They just seemed to be confused and convinced it was UPS fault. I've reached out to UPS and they believe it is the shippers fault. Still pending investigation with them and whether or not they will pay for the insurance.
 
im just curious, why not use paypal or something like that, i thought it was buying from strangers 101 to never wire transfer.

I was thinking this too, but Tony specifically said no PayPal in his listing... ugh. This Cinemartin/TEODORED bull was already grinding my gears, but hearing him screw a REDuser is a whole other level of lame.
 
I'm going to chip in here as I too was talking to Tony for quite some time. I felt he was quite pushy and he didn't understand selling across Europe, I asked if he would ship the camera at my expense to RED Europe and then I would pay him and they would release the camera to me, he refused. I didn't go through with the deal as he was including the VAT in the total price which I couldn't reclaim so the deal would have been more expensive for me.

To be fair though he did say to me he would accept PayPal if I paid the fee and he also offered to pay for a flight to Barcelona and a trip to a restaurant when I collected the camera from him.
 
That auction is probably a scam, just check his description. Though it is weirdly ironic that a second scammer is using photos from another scammer.
 
Pff man so sorry to hear that. Back when he posted the advert I wanted to purchase it from him but we had similar problems on payment and prices.. and we live "theorically" at the same city. I went finally buying a scarlet Dragon for a decent price and I'm pretty happy right now
