  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Hi Guys,

I just got my Raven and I tried using my Switronix Hypercore Slim 75 but the Raven will not power up. So I kept the battery on and power the camera via DC and look at the power setting it show the battery is detected and has 90 precent charge any idea why I can't get this to power on with the battery.
 
haha, yeah. when I got my camera it wouldn't turn on with my v-mount. Flicked the switch on the top of the I/O and all good.
 
Can someone explain that star switch again? I read it in a manual somewhere but can't find it anymore... Thanks!

Automatically powers up the camera upon DC power input. Useful for when the camera is on gimbals or aerial rigs.

one of my hypercore slims did the same thing, it wound up being a bad battery and sent it in to switronox for an rma, all my others worked fine, just one out of 5.

Can you imagine if you had a bad battery and did not know about the Star switch? You'd probably loose your S#!T, LOL. Panic would ensue.

I kind of wish Red did defaulted to V-Mount Battery on the star switch. It took me about 40 minutes to figure it out and I was stressing thinking my camera was broken.
 
Lol- Same batteries, same exact scenario. It was 45 seconds of pure horror followed by bliss.

Haha, I thought I was the only one! I tried two new batteries before I found that tidbit in the manual. I had powered it up with AC first so I was extra confused! I had intended to RTFM beforehand but I didn't get around to it before my Raven arrived.

The crazy part is in the manual I look at the DSMC2 V-Lock section no mention of the switch but it is mention in a early section of the manual.

V mount IDX ...My Raven arrived today from Omega Broadcast. No manual and she wouldn't fire up... I'm seriously still coming down. So thankful for this thread.
