The drive will not format (screen says "Formatting" for 15+ minutes).
I have tried formatting the drive on 2 cameras (M and MX) and with 2 different drive cables. Same results.
I have successfully reformatted it (FAT32) on a Mac (as per instructions from other threads), followed by format attempt on camera. Same results.
I tested both cables and Mac (FAT32) format procedure with 2nd RAID drive and both work.

Any assistance is greatly appreciated.

Success!

Pulled the affected drive out of the box again today to troubleshoot.

Reformatted (FAT32) on Mac again (used a previous Red Mag name: ie... A001_0101KX) and copied all associated files over to RAID Drive.
Camera recognized drive, played files, and formatted in under 5min.

I think one of the students formatted it on the laptop and made it unrecognizable to the camera.

Descartes went into a bar and ordered a whiskey. The bartender asked if he wanted it on the rocks. Descartes responded "I think not." and promptly disappeared.

So, I sent off my RED today and realized that I still need to clear off my drives that I'm planning to send in to RED toward the 256 SSD deal. So I CAN format the drives on a mac? What about just throwing the contents into the trash? What is your experience with formatting the drives with a computer?
