Hello there,

I've been playing and exporting Red QuickTime proxies using Apple Compressor. I haven't been experiencing so far until I updated the RED Code plugin to its latest version (v3.0).

When playing these proxies via quicktime player, it works fine (all formats xxx_P, xxx_M, xxx_H, and xxx_F). But when I open quicktime proxies (xxx_H and xxx_F), compressor is not displaying the video correctly, nor the preview window under the video settings menu in quicktime export option.

Anybody experienced this problem?

Any workarounds you have in mind?

Thanks!

B16 - I cannot open quicktime proxies in compressor - crash. But played ok via quicktime player. Error states to check RedQT plugin. Any one is successful in using Compressor to transcode to Prosres for B16?

Not working here... Although, I've never been able to use Compressor with the QT proxies.

If you're generating ProRes clips, you don't want to do it from the proxies anyway.

A few options:
- redrender automator script
Set debayer to half res, no noise reduction for faster decode.

- Batch Export in FCP.
Drag the proxies you want into a bin, select the bin and rightclick 'batch export'. Set the export setting to the preset you want.

Been quite a while since I haven't been receiving notifications responses in the thread I've created.

But just to let you guys know, exporting quicktime proxies at (xxx_H or xxx_F) seems to be working fine with Compressor. Though the Compressor's preview window doesn't display them properly.

Could it be a bug or something?

Cheers...

!

FYI
The new version on the RED site is 3.1. It came out shortly after 3.0

MPEG streamclip

MPEG streamclip

I am still on build 15, but I found out yesterday that batch conversions with MPEG Streamclip (www.squared5.com) work better and faster with proxies than compressor does. And it's a freeware.

cheers, Fritz
