RED Promote, how far away?

[Tim Lüdin]

Dear RED Team

How far away is the RED Promote at the moment? Or in other words how high on the to do list is it?
I'm asking because I'm in the middle of planing my future (next 3-4months) lens purchase and the RED Promote is the major factor here.
If it comes out soon, I can stick with my Canon set which I use with the Birger Mount for over a year now with great results even on commercial jobs. And I can easily wait for the next RED DSMC lenses. But if the Epic (I'm early stage 2) comes without the Promote for along time and the Birger wont work, then I'm forced to buy into an oder brand. That would kinda suck.

It would be nice if you could share some infos about that.

Thanks a lot.

Tim

It took them a long time to get these cameras out, once that is done, then they'll start working on a lot of the accs. they stated they would make, don't bet on seeing it this year, unless its at the end of the year, since they have to build a full follow focus system for it.

Its also the REDmote Pro, not the RED Promote, since that sounds like they're promoting something

I'd say 2 years.
