Hi all,
I'm in the process of buying a camera system and need to fill in a few holes in my finances. I tried to avoid this but my beloved 18-85 is up for sale. This has been lightly used and makes very pretty pictures. The best thing is its great range, and clarity. Also with a stripped down epic / scarlet can be used handheld.

Comes with laser cut foam in a perfectly sized peli case, very manageable and light. Also it comes with a chroziel lens support for 19mm bars. She flares great as well if you push her. There is one small cosmetic mark on the barrel but has no impact on picture.

http://vimeo.com/82770704 Some projects I used the lens on, what a blessing to have it on a jib, and it really helps if your crew is small, once its on the camera its there for the day, freeing people from lugging primes around and changing lens all the time. Works great with a clip on matte box also.

Price is $4350 usd, lens is currently with me here in Dubai and am open to international sale, buyer pays for shipping. Lens has imperial markings, clean glass, little use and never rented.

Kind Regards
Ian

I am interested. I have been looking for any of the RED lenses for my F3 ( soon to be F5) but I have heard this one is super heavy and LONG ! Any dimensions you can share?

Lots of interest, but to be clear this is not an alternative to a 17-50, light weight documentary lens, its a proper cinema lens that is light enough to be used on the shoulder during a shoot, not exactly suited to a non stop handheld shoot. I have used it with an f5 and shot for a cycling program, I made it work, weight of the whole rig was about 10kg so not too heavy, similar to the old eng cameras. Really its about the weight of the cameras getting less.

The measurements are about 1 foot in length and about 6 inches at the end of the barrel, its about 4.5kg not more. The pics attached are a bit exaggerated by the matte box and the raw recorder on the f5 but you get the idea. Once you find balance its comfortable.

Cheers
Ian

Here is a eng type shoot I did with the lens and an f5, I nearly forgot about this, most of the b-roll at the start and main interview were done with the lens, alot of handheld, all the Dubai footage, even the opening event in crop mode, it actually worked out really well.

Bump, look around this is a great deal. Only reason selling because I have a set of primes and just got delivery of a new dragon, so have to sacrifice having the lens to cover the bills.

Thanks
