  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Red Pro Primes at Gymkhana Two

His name is Sean Coles.

His name is Sean Coles.

I didn't want to name drop. But yes that's who it was.

Seems like a nice guy. We were talking about doing some Phantom stuff next time I'm out in AZ doing some shots with weapons. Might be able to get some shots of a mini gun at 1000fps:gun:

Funny story David...When Ken first brought the project to us last year we did a ton of research on Gymkhana, Autocross, Drifting, Tougue, etc... We got a real kick out of watching the Brits spin around in there small little cars... All of this was really born out of the idea that cones, frankly, suck. So don't be surprised if in the near future there is a full blown event that allows drivers to "session" a course and create the best "line" like in skateboarding and other action sports. Oh yeah, then there's the horse jumping Gymkhana...

Matt I may be wrong but I remember hearing that it was only being released as a viral web piece. It as it clearly states is a giant infomercial and it seems to be working. I agree it is really tough to stomach that YouTube compression after seeing the shots at full rez. The thing is Ken Block knows exactly what he is doing, and he seems pretty good at it.
DC Shoes...

dude, INSANE!

Seriously one of the coolest things I have ever watched. And the camera work was so awesome. =] Well done guys. My hats off to you!

Now that is some nice work!

There is one shot that looks like a cartoon. Is there a way to minimise this effect? We've been shooting some fast moving mechanical parts that exhibit a similar rolling shutter.

Josh/Mike,

Do you know if there are any plans to release a higher res version?
I think Jay said it was all ending up 720p. Maybe a download or a disc?
That would be awesome.

Hey Matt,
Yeah we'll get it out on SD DVD soon and then eventually Blu-Ray.
I agree 100% that it deserves a home on the best format available.
Would be sick to showcase this and some of Mike / Jay's work off the new RED 4K drive sometime this summer. Maybe we should have an action sports RED film fest?
