Is there any chance for new set of Red Pro Prime Lenses coming as the Red Store doesn't show any lenses except zooms and battle-tested 18 & 300mm?

Red said they under estimated the demand for their lenses and thus are out of stock. They are working on getting back in stock. I was told that currently they are not planning for newer lenses... But then again we all know everything is subject to change with Red... ;)

Rumour mill.....

New lenses coming out... Jarred let slip in a post some time back.
Something like a RED MOUNT... and AF... ?

I hope he wasn't playin with us again.... I'm looking for the post. I hope he hasn't deleted it...

I'm hoping for more light weight ZOOMs.. around the 70 to 200 F2.8 range
and better yet.. some smallish f1.4 Super speeds. !

There was a lot of talk about a RED electronic mount for a while.

Been quiet, for a while, but the development would probably have gone in parallell with the Scarlet Fixed. That IP R&D is still in the house, I guess.

But as far as I understood Jarreds post above, they'll be getting more of the "old" RPPs as well.

I really wish they did something to make the 18, 25 and 35 be more in size and weight with the rest of the set.
More precise focusmarkings would be good, too - if the price stayed the same... :)

The RPPs are gorgeous as glass.

RPP manufacturing is being ramped up, they underestimated demand.

As for the other lenses, electronic lenses, RED Mount, etc.. That's all stuff that has been announced at other times in the past, and I believe I also saw that post from Jarred that Mark mentioned above, stating that the RED mount was still in the works. I have no doubt that they're working on lots of cool things, but with RED's newer policy of secrecy it leaves us to speculate. :)

I'm still geeing out over that render of one of the RED electronic zooms they posted a long while back that had the OLED display on the lens to indicate focal length and focal distance.

I'm hoping to see some more RPPs. I really want one around 40mm and a 65mm would be great. A 120 or 135 and something around 200.... :)

+1

Around the time the RPPs were released, 3 years ago, there was an announcement of more focal lengths "coming soon": 14mm, 21mm, 65mm, 120mm, 140mm.

If the RPPs have sold beyond all expectations, as stated, it seems strange that the additional focal lengths have gone AWOL.

My wish list is 14, 21 and 40.

Is there an update on the RPP situation? Looks like the 50mm and 100mm are still missing...

That sounds sick. :) Shame on me, i have missed it. Do you still have that picture?

I have a set I am selling
Anyone interest can contact me
Lenses are like new since used very few times
I have more lenses than I can chew.
I think the RPP, ignoring their bulkiness and missing marks on focus scales, are optically very good lenses (just had a hint who made them for Red)
Contact me if you want
