RED Pro Matte Box Wide angle Compatibilities ???

[dean tsolakis]

G'day,

Considering purchasing the RED Pro matte box, It looks very decent for the price considering the Carbon,

being compact, modular with future plans to broaden its design and accessories, ect Just wondering if can accommodate

sufficiently wide angle lenses? I think it stated a 142mm rear plate? would this cover the RED 17-50mm which i think

has a 144mmm front diameter? Has any one had problems with this Box regarding Wider primes & zooms?

I would like to know this as well, as I have a RPZ 17-50mm.

actually just found out the New 17-50mm zoom had the front re-housed at 114mm, so effectively that Matte box accommodates all RED lenses with the exception of the 300mm prime

Awesome!

I thought that I read that on the spec sheet

BTW, I got my RED MATTEBOX, and I love it. It clips on perfectly, and I don't foresee any difficulty in the future.... But as we all know, RED products are top of the line, built with craftsmanship!
