Ok so I had this question stuck in my mind since the last couple of days.

Owner of the Red One and Red Epic, I am using a lot of the Red One accessories, including the Red Brick batteries, with a quickplate mounted on the top 19mm rods.
This current set-up is actually pretty small and tidy, and I can't complain about the longevity of the Red brick batteries.

I do have a few redvolts on side, that I don't really need unless I am shooting a short pick-up in house.

At the moment, I am actually looking for the I/O pro module, so I can get rid of those cables, so hard to access.

So my question is : is the red pro battery module quad is worth getting for this camera set-up?

My opinion is no, but I would be curious to hear your thoughts about it.

Thank you!

It all depends on your preferences — if you're a V-mount guy and accustomed to using V-mount batteries then I think the Quad is not for you, it's for people who made a conscious decision to invest in Redvolts as a main power source option. For those using V-mount batteries on a regular basis Side Handle or Dual Battery Module will be more than enough.

I went out of the way to buy the quad module for my Scarlet. I like it for tripod work and I just purchased two REDvolts XLs to work with it. I also set my shoulder rig up with an AB mount so I have that option as well. The ability to hot swap up to 4 REDvolts or two XLs, or some combination, seems like a good option to have. In a few months, I might have favorites but, for now, I have choices.
