[Jiri Vrozina]

Hi Red,
Would it be possible to have choice of EF mount on your lenses, especially Zoom 17-50?

Regards
Jiri

+1

I don't understand why It isn't proposed yet

Umm, are there not already a number of zoom lenses in this range with EF mounts?

[Paul Hazlett]

You should look at the tamron lenses

Yes,
BUT they are +$20,000......

[David W. Jones]

Not in the world I live in.
Canon, Nikon, Sigma, Tamron, Tokina, to name a few are all reasonably priced in EF mount.

PL mount zooms are the expensive culprit in this zoom range, well except for the low cost Red zooms.

I think David is referring stills lenses, while Jiri is probably referring to cine-mechanics on EF mounts.

[Jiri Vrozina]

Yes,
thread was about RED Cine Lenses,,,they the ones one can ZOOM with,,,,,,,

[David W. Jones]

Well I'm a little bass awkward, but to me the EF mount is not as robust as the PL mount, and in my mind the only advantage an EF mount has is when coupled with electronic controlled EF lenses (IE) focus and iris. Red already offers PL mounts on their cameras for their manual PL mount cine lenses. If you like the Red line of lenses, why not simply use a PL mount on your camera?

All the Best!
