Red Prime Set- Which focal lengths will be the initial set include?

[Tonaci Tran]

According to the NAB brochure:
" 25MM T1.9 • 35MM T1.9 • 50MM T1.9 • 85MM T1.9 • 100MM T1.9 •
COMING IN THE SECOND WAVE... 15MM T2.8 • 18MM T1.9 "

So does this mean that the initial 5 lens set for approximately 20k will include the 25mm, 35mm, 50mm, 85 and 100mm?

Although it is still a tremendous deal, I think it would be great to have the option of having the 18mm, 25mm, 35mm, 50mm and 85mm in one package even if it means waiting for the 18 to come.

I seem to remember the 100mm being a "with the others" option but you could opt to wait for the 18mm Not sure if that's still true through.

at NAB I heard "about 5k each, buy 4 get 1 free", I dont think it matters which ones you choose, fifth one's free.

I'd agree with you there Tonaci - except for the part about "waiting for the 18mm" - I expect these lenses to bet "gobbled up" MUCH, MUCH faster than RED can make them.

So ... at these prices ... you'd be wise to take 'em as they roll out - even if it means you end up with a set of 7 for 30K (set of 5 for $20K + 2 other focal lengths at $5K each) .... it' still the deal of decade.

And obviously ... specs could change.
