Anyhow... what is important is not the SN, but the date of delivery.

I have 930, but I gather I got my cam earlier than a lot

BTW, I have that titanium R, too. It has nothing to do with Epic, but it's fun having the first thing RED ever shipped... -:)

my understanding is the early adopters for the epic x are only until 1080 unless im mistaken
only those numbers have the "r".

i cant give you a date as red will not give me that info. i contacted about the mx upgrade and its a month to two months

this camera is in vancouver bc canada...

If you are the camera owner, RED will most certainly send you a reminder of the date your RED was delivered.

They sent me a copy of my original delivery invoice when I requested it.

This thread is a bit weird. Ed is correct, RED will supply you with that information, if you are the proper owner. One would also think that when you pay $20K or more for a purchase, you would at least kinda remember when it happened or have a record of it yourself???

As already mentioned, the titanium "R" has nothing to do with Epic or the ability to buy an Epic. It is simply a trinket or collectors' item. RED gave those out to about the first 1000 reservation holders when they paid their deposits. I don't remember the exact cut-off, but my #1110 didn't get an "R".

Anyone who has proper ownership of a RED One, as in they are the owner of record at RED, on or before November 30, is elligible to purchase Epic-X.

Selling your camera to someone now, the new owner would not be able to upgrade to or purchase Epic-X. Not unless you retained official ownership of the camera and facilitated the Epic-X purchase -- via a lease to own agreement or something of that nature. All things subject to change, of course...

Jeff.

I, too, understand the first two statements above to be correct. I have had significant dialogues with many potential buyers and sellers on how to structure such an arrangement. For interested potential buyers or sellers on any Red's, PM me and I would be happy to discuss.

One note of clarification. In terms of property rights in a legal sense (I am not a lawyer), I think there has been the "merging" of concepts on this board with respect to "ownership" of an asset (ie. Red Cameras) and the mechanism by which Red, the Company, allocates and administers warranty, upgrade, and other product rights.

Hence your term, "official" ownership, has little meaning in the context noted above. Red may choose how it grants those rights independent of property rights recognized by various local jurisdictions in a legal sense.

In my personal opinion, the "all things subject to change" will, in this instance, favor the rights of Red camera owners to the extent that if things change to the extent we start seeing "impairments" to $50K worth of commercial assets, State AG's might start discussing DTPA remedies.

It's always good for every constituent group to see a fluid secondary market for the great Red equipment currently being used in the industry.

"Purchase and paid for on or before October 29, 2009". It's in the image where Jim lays out the stage options

red camera date

red camera date

I will look on our receipt for the date which was between feb and march 2008 the date was changed by red due to a delay due to a batch of failed sensors.
camera is number 1029 we had several requests from possible local buyers for a MX delivery day. when i email the MX up grade they couldn't give me a date on that. Ive email nate at red to get the correct date to end the bad gossip.

were still interested in talking until deposit paid but it looks like a sale pending

I am really confused here. I will have Nate forward me the email, e h jones, to see what is going on. Delivery dates don't change...
