Camera Essentials now has RED One raincovers available. On our website at www.cameraessentials.com.

I am also working on a 'Desert' cover for the RED One - it is a lightweight cover to protect from sand, heat, or light rain (no hurricanes!).

I would love to have an owner/operator in Los Angeles test this new product for me in a month or so.

Pictures of the weather protectors are on my profile page also.

Hey Patti,

Would enjoy helping you test this...I do a lot of Red shoots out of LA in all sorts of strange environments, desert, rain, snow, etc. No hurricanes yet, but almost a tornado...

Cheers,

nice if someone founds caps for all those ports/sockets.
I know ASL (Air Sea Land) has a rubber cover/stopper for the CF reader port.

I'm looking into a weather protector too. There is Camrade as well. Has anyone compared, how do they differ in real world testing?

Hey Patti got any pictures?

Yean Loon,

Indeed the postage to send the caps are way too overpriced. Unfortunately, our site does not contain the option for standard post office rates overseas (Only Fedex). If you contact: sales@airsealand.com , they can send you a fax form, fill in the items you want, and we will personally bring them to the local post office, where we have done so for other overseas customers. The cost is much less, however may take a week or two to be delivered. Also, we will be at NAB in April (Las Vegas) where you can get some Jimmy-Caps at our booth.

Respectfully,

Thanks for your answer Patti.

Sorry to keep pushing forward, but is there a way to access the EVF's controls? I guess the Velcro collar can be loosened and it would easily peel back, correct?

For the other controls I guess you either use the lens flap or simply access them from below which works perfectly for rain, I am however wondering how I could get to the back and cable connections while preventing all of the built up heat to escape. I understand isn't the intended use it was designed for. Hope you don't mind me asking about it.

What might be more important for cold weather use, might be if the material is breathable. I suppose it might be as it could cause condensation build up if it weren't at all, but for cold weather it would be best if it were wind resistant.
