I just wanted to show you guys a light weight set up that has been working pretty well for me. Along with a few home built parts, I hold the camera with two hands; one over the top with a strap and the other around the lens base. While the cam is tucked with my elbows close to my body I lean my cheek on the back of my wrist and focus with the three fingers on my right hand. Its amazingly stable.

love the lcd mount - looks like one of my home depot/hammer and vise creations and the wire handles are pretty clever too.

You can't get any lighter than that! I'm a big fan of DIY solutions.

Do you keep that Bogen 3066 tripod plate on there too? It looks like the edge might dig into your neck a bit.

The plate just bumps up against the front of my shoulder, so not a problem, it actually acts like a stop, with out it the bottom of the cam can feel a little slippery.

That makes sense. And it probably keeps the camera from rolling on the horizontal axis too much.

Thanks for posting the pics too.
