If you want to see some sweet Red One 120FPS slow motion, tune in to the Grey Cup coverage on TSN today - Sunday Nov 23. (The Grey Cup is like Canada's Superbowl).

The filmic looking slow mo you see in the features on Montreal and in some promos was shot by yours truly. The Calgary/BC game was covered by a Red owner/operator from Calgary. Hopefully he's a Reduser member and will speak up - you got some awesome close ups, dude.

I used:
Red One camera - Build 16
Angenieux 25-250 HR T3.5
Zeiss 11-110 Super 16 lens
all Supplied by Bling Digital

Shot at ASA 800 (!) and lovingly processed and noise-reduced by Redlab Toronto.

Produced by Josh Shiaman for TSN.

I hope you like it! I'm thrilled that broadcasters are discovering the awesome potential of this camera.

Congratulations Brent.

I did not see it but I'm sure it looked great!

Yes,... Broadcasters are using the Red camera here in the US also.

Lets review...

Films are being shot with the Red One.

Commercials are being shot with the Red One.

Sports features are being shot with the Red One.

Entertainment features are being shot with the Red One.

What's next?...Space the final frontier!

Congrats Brent !
Would love to see some of it on the net.
Was the slow mo mostly done with the Zeiss 11-110 Super 16 lens ?

Cheers

Actually most of the slow-mo was on the Angenieux, hence the need to shoot 800 ASA. The stadium was lit to around 120 footcandles, which apparently is the standard. It was certainly challenging on a T3.5 cine lens. The next time we do it I think it will be worth the extra expense to get the 24-290 T2.8.

Years ago I used a 14-480 Super 16 lens that came from Colorado (I think). I would loooove to find that baby again. Any ideas?

You can see one of the features here, but the compressed net video and 4:3 crop is painful: http://watch.tsn.ca/cfl-news-and-highlights/#clip115060
It's a mix of video from the broadcast and Red footage. You guys will be able to see the difference.
