Red One/Scarlet and Leica-R 19mm

Greetings. I have completed my Leica Prime set with the addition of the Elmarit-R 19mm. An amazing lens.

Right now I am using the 5D Mark II, but will be getting a Red One X, or a Scarlet S35 ASAP.

The Leica 19mm needs to be modified in order to work with the 5D. Another option is to shave the mirror in the camera. Most in my circumstance shave the mirror --

I was first wondering how the Leica-R 19mm works on the RED (with the EOS mount of course)? Does the Leica 19mm need modification to work on the RED? This will help me make the decision on whether to shave the mirror or lens.

eos mount? you mean a leica to red adapter? I have the one by Action Products, from Switzerland, which is now only 198 euros. I have no experience yet with the 19 mm however, so I'm sorry I can't help you there; my smallest one is the 24. But congrats with the 19

I am assuming since he's using the R lenses with a Canon that he may be using bolt-on replacement mounting flanges with Canon mount. I did the same thing, but for Nikon.

Since there is nothing obstructing the lens port like with a SLR, you should have no problem using the 19mm. You can even use the voigtlander 15mm, which would be fun.

And yes- congrats, 24mm is my widest as well, but a 19 sounds nice! Gotta love Leica glass.

That is a correct assumption about the mount.

Thanks, and I'm loving the 19mm. I fell in love with Leica glass the first time I saw it, and now have the 19, 28, 50, 100, and the 80-200 zoom.

I just need a follow focus now and I'll be all set!

Allstar has a Leica to A mount adaptor. The A mount replaces the Red PL mount on the camera.
