  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Red one Redmag project - need forum help

Hey Troy I was wondering which company you used for printing your PCBs. Probably just going to do a one off, for a makita battery plate. Currently have it working with an off the shelf buck converter but want to get multiple regulated outputs for powering peripherals. Thanks

Amazing, Troy. Way to breathe some life back into these old but excellent cameras. I'd buy one if I didn't already have one. You should post about this in the FB group too. I'm sure it will have a good amount of interest.

Perhaps eBay as well.
This will definitely help the resale value of many RED Ones on eBay that only have the CF card module.

New Update to the Case model, Some more refined edges, an a little adjustment to the SSD Slot opening for better fitment, and some optimization.
I also added the RED Logo (Let me know if this is not okay and infringes on copyrights)

I think you could be in a bit of bother if your "RED-branded" casework is seen to infringe upon a registered design or trademark. Companies are more or less obliged to proactively protect their patents, trademarks and registered designs or they might be judged to no longer need the protection in some instances. One would hope that the company will let this one pass as it extends the life of their pioneer worthy product. It could put the company in a good light by the goodwill gesture of leaving things be or actually granting a permission or fee-free licence for this particular Red One accessory

What would be cool is a custom 3D printed housing with whatever image or message we want on it (for an extra cost of course)... I'd be interested in just a housing since I already have an SSD drive and no interest 3D printing anything myself...

Let's continue to keep the R1 alive!!!!

Housing and PCB can be sold separatly, SSDs are not included.
the text can be modified for an extra charge depending in what an how much work goes into it
