Hi Guys, I realize the many people have moved on from this camera however, I'd had my Red One for a little while now and I'm having issues with the Hard Drives or camera.

Let me start from the beginning. So, I had to use pliers to detach an old 320 gig hard drive cable from the hard drive one night after a shoot. The cable was jammed and would not come out. After that the camera seems to be having problems with the hard drive. Yes the camera was off. I only pulled the cable off the hard drive not the camera.

I finally got another hard drive today and New cable and plug it into the camera and I'm getting the No drive attached after I format the drive. It seem as though the camera start glitching just before the error message because the EVF starting cutting in and out then bang! No Drive Attached attached message.

So periodically, before the new hard drive came I would attach the old 320 to the camera with the new cable and I would get the same error message, No Drive Attached drive attached however, sometime it would see it format it then no longer see it. Weird!

Last I checked, it keeps asking me to reformat the drive and when it's complete and I press okay. It says drive un-formatted.

I read that you can adjust the setting in the camera or something I didn't quite understand but I'm in need of serious help. Do I need to do a software upgrade? I have a shoot Saturday and my back is against the wall. Can anyone help me?

Now I understand your issue the prongs are push to far back due to the 3rd party cable they used. I purchased a cable from amazon for power and one for my drive but I noticed when I used them they would lock into position and I had to push them all the way into the port. I stopped because one.... it scared the hell out of me so I put the red cables in and they worked. Those 3rd party cable pins are too long so when you push them in they will actually push the connectors back so when you use the Red cables which have the proper short pins it will not connect and the only way to fix the issue is to ship the camera to them. Its worth the repair cost Due to that camera being a beast. $500 transfer fee or have the first owner send it in because its his fault or get a refund. If he acts up hold the camera and sue his ass for selling you a defective device. he may say he will pay for the port repair.

Thanks Aaron for the tips. I'll look into the wires prongs issue; hopefully that is the problem.
