  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

RED One price drop...

Why do people assumed that its going to be 100% trade in from the RED ONE to the Epic and then you just pay the difference between the RED ONE vs the EPIC ?

YES, You are only getting 100% value trading in the Body of your RED ONE to the EPIC. HOWEVER, now you have to buy all those different modules (god knows how much they will be) in order to get a fully working camera again. Heck, you might not even want to or can reuse some of your RED ONE accessories. So in the end, when you trade in your fully working RED ONE, you are NOT going to get back a fully working EPIC without additional $$$$.

Yup. I can afford the upgrade cost... but this situation really sucks for those people that fought their way into getting an R1. Not that RED is at fault... damn we all know that technology keeps moving. The only thing I could fault RED for is not keeping pace with some of the accessories. Some people waited 3 months for a drive and some are going to wait over 2 years for lenses.

Heck I thought my R1 would have been delivered around November of 07... it was June of 08... then I had to wait 3 months for a drive and EVF. The set of RED primes that I thought would be available at the end of 07... I'm still waiting on. If I blame RED for anything is that they have rarely had any products on the shelves. It would be great if we could actually feast ourselves instead of starving out in the cold with money in our hands.

hehe it's allways nice to get it cheaper but don't forget that Jim droped price at very beginig 10 times comparded to Sony :bleh:
