Hi, I just got a Red one body. cool ? Not really.
The body was really really well packed. I took my ac power (for MX of course). Green light for the ac, connected to the red.
Let's boot it. Well, a white light for 0.1 on the back lcd sec (flash) and nothing. I re-try, no. Disconnect the LEMO an reconnect, flash and nothing.

I don't know what I can do.

There is no sd card (I don't know if that does matter for booting).

Someone could help me ? Please .

Red just quoted me:
The CPU and Audio board are dead.
I can't afford a reparation.

I am maybe just not lucky but I lost a lot of money and time with this, that make me delusional about red quality.

Anyway, Except the cpu and audio board, the body is good, the sensor has been clean by red just before this.
also CF module and a awesome PL titanium mount from screenplan

When you mention it came well packed, does that mean you just bought it? I see several options

1 Was it insured by the carrier that brought it?
2 Did you and the buyer plan to have Red do an inspection?
3 Can the seller refund you?

Prior to the Red One being EOL'd you used to be able to send it in for a transfer of ownership inspection. It cost a little coin but you got a 90 day warranty. I have no idea if Red still does this since the model is no longer sold. Was this discussed at all during the sale? Send it in and maybe you both split the repair costs? I once had my Scarlet serviced for only 500 including shipping so it wasn't a total downer. Plus if your insured you can use that to cover...

So I'd say you do have options, which is a good thing. Weigh them heavily and decide what course of action is best for you. As for the SD card, that is used to set in camera looks/LUTs. You can pop it out.

Also try putting some firmware on that card, and reloading the camera firmware. It might be something that simple. Or if there is firmware on the card and not LUTs then it should be ejected I believe. Also make sure your waiting the 2 minutes it takes for a Red One to fully boot. Its not exactly a quick starting camera...

Hope this helps, feel free to call Red up as well. Its been a while since I started using DSMC, so I can't quite remember the entire Red One diagnostic procedures...

He bought it from us (monkeedeals.com). The camera just came back from RED for a sensor cleaning but no ownership transfer service. We gave the customers the option of purchasing the transfership if they so chose. To date nobody chose to do that. The camera worked fine in our possession, worked fine when it was dropped off at RED and again was tested and worked fine when it was returned to us. Nonetheless, we were offering our customers warranties on them so we'd take it back.

The problem the OP is going to have is that he's not in the US so shipping back and forth to his US contact is going to be costly. Our suggestion was to simply send it back for a refund.

If you guys don't mind, I'd suggest trying to do a firmware update and calling Red. Perhaps its not as big a problem as it seems. Like I mentioned, I had a 250 dollar repair done once, with a 250 bill in insurance for shipping, but none the less it wasn't the end of the world. Without trying some diagnostic attempts you guys might miss out on a cost effective solution to the situation. But regardless, best of luck, and I am hoping for the best

Have you already used a another power source? Battery?

best of luck

Hi, Thank you everyone for your awesome reply. I try to power up with a red brick, nop, the same. I can't put a firmware because I can't download it yet. I will contact RED and we will see what they say.
Brian, great advice but now I wait a RED answer.
