So I have been shooting a Documentary series for UK Channel 4 and guess where we are this week ?
You will probably call me crazy for using a RED ONE on a doc but the old girl is alive and kicking like a Mule on Acid.

Who ever said it was an unreliable camera ??

Red ONES are a great camera that still to this day cut perfectly with Epic MX and even Dragon. Would not hesitate to use one again. True workhorse that will serve you well.

Still the best value for money camera out there + amazing images.

Mind that EVF in the sun!

Interesting article on the set.
What if the Great pyramids were just the backdrop for an epic story re enacted by the ancient Egyptians?

I have to imagine James (OP) has NDAs covered if this is being done fo the BBC.
That must be a pretty amazing landscape to shoot in.

Regarding the RED ONE, that camera is still amazing despite being over 7 years old.
It was already ahead of it's time and the Color Science updates keep the images fresh.

When one considers just how huge the data rates are to shoot 4K raw or even Prores on other camera
platforms, RED (including the original ONE) make a lot of sense particularly for docs in 4k.
REDCODE RAW was truly a big step.

I'm still happily shooting with my ONE (MX)..

Look forward to seeing this BBC doc on the new Star Wars.
