I don't mean any disrespect Ryan..... But if someone is about to drop 5K I would troll for all the info I could get lol!
A very short video with the camera that turns on, make the setup, and turn off, would be peace of mind for any buyer.
Good luck for your sale.
I agree it is good to have due diligence on a purchase. But, David's line of questions is insinuating that I am not telling the truth which I find disrespectful, and I doubt he has any interest in buying the camera anyway. If he was interested in the camera, but wanted to know about the repair, he could have private messaged me and I could provide him with an invoice I made for the repair and he could have called the repair shop for verification. It is simple.
I thought it would be considered proper etiquette to include information about repairs that had been done to the camera, especially if it was not by red. Obviously i knew it didnt work because i watched the ebay listing. But what about anyone else who didnt know? I doubt they would have private messaged you asking if repairs had been done... Sorry if you consider my questions disrespectful or untrustworthy, I in no way intended them to be.
Transparency is key to a confident sale/ purchase. Making the buyer aware of EVERY detail is essential in my opinion, especially when your credibility is on the line. This is our profession here. This isn't a used car lot. Shady adds, shady sellers, and shady tactics should have no place on this forum. I'm not saying you are being shady, but I think it is very important that Leroy had spoken up here along with David. They are bringing up perfectly normal & logical questions of concern. They don't want anyone to get screwed over. Not saying you are trying to do that, as you said you had it repaired...but not by RED. Well, I think it is important you tell us about that in the open since there are some red flags that have been raised. In doing so that will help build confidence in the potential sale for you and confidence from the user base. Not saying that it is required for you to do so, but I think it would be a positive move on your part.
I've probably been scammed around 5 or 6 times on this forum over the last year. So I'm very critical and cynical when I it comes to dealing on here anymore. Simple truth. I think if you are a Reduser with a few years under your belt and at least a hundred posts that are outside of the market place and show productive sharing of ideas and mature communication skills then you have some credibility & a basic track record. But still I would ALWAYS ask for the complete history and condition of the item. And make sure it is all in writing so there's no miscommunication or fowl play.
Be careful guys. If it's to good to be true, it IS. Never do wire transfers without a legal binding contract - and always prepare to spend money on lawyers if you go that route with a non-track record seller. Also, NEVER pay for a repair yourself if it's agreed to buy the seller. Simply return the item for a full refund. I have learned that lesson the hard way. But Karma has definitely had my back!
Sorry to derail the thread.
