Here is a new one for SSD users. I experienced a new fault with regards to using the SSD's. After having successful shoots with the SSD's and falling into a false sense of security, I was met with a surprise. Previously working SSD's where claimed by the RED to be NON-Speed Verified. Meaning that the SSD's where un-formattable above 2K resolution. I tried my two brand new SSD's to no avail, out of Five SSD's one worked as per normal the rest would not mount. Power cycling did not work, reseting the camera did not work, formatting the drives on my Mac did not work ....... eventually the life blood to the fault was an upgrade. I was on V30.6.12 after upgrading to V30.7.0 new life was injected into the RED and the limited (NON-Speed Verified) drives came back to life. Use it don't use it, just remember even though we are this far up the firmware evolution there is always room for improvement.

Well no i go the SSD's as they came to and put the camera on a long form 5 week shoot with no hassle on the previous build. hence my surprise.
