  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

I am in London for a month with my RED One production kit starting the 9th and am available for hire for £350 per day with full production kit as outlined below... call me on 020 8133 7119 if you need me in January only!

Hey!:smile5: Its a free website forum that costs only time for those who wish to discuss a subject. How we do it is our choice. You obviously have something or some point you want to make as you are doing the very thing that you complain of!

However; the cheap offer from the guy in London on Holiday from Spain may be viewed as offering to go work cheaply. Now if that catches on we can buy a ticket To OR From Alicante return with baggage on Squeezy Jet for less than £250.00 a shot, Maybe we will all quote HIS clients in Majorca and Alicante and GO down to Spain and reverse the situation. Would he accept that competition? so whats the price in February for say 3 days at 15 hours a day £16.00 an hour all in? Are you seriously saying that he would turn that offer down? We simply dont believe it. Cheap once is a recipe for offers that always follow.

I totally agree with Tony and Robert,

I'm all for a free market but moving between territories and undercutting is a little bit of a piss take no? I know its a tough market at the moment and January is always a bit slow, but surely you can see that this sort of behavior is damaging to our industry as a whole?

Unfortunately due to the massive uptake on the red of owner operators (myself included) I see this sort of behavior becoming a lot more common. People appear to be willing to work for anything in order to get back their investment. I understand completely, but it's simply no good for the industry. I think a little self restraint in people lowering rates would certainly be better for us all in the long run.

When the Scarlet hits town I see this situation getting even worse......

Is that a joke?

Im all for a free market, but where you live and work have relative costs (and VAT/Taxes). Those costs determine what you charge for your services. if someone is living and working in London (or anywhere), and can afford to take the risk of permanently affecting the permanent market value of his services thats one thing. Flying in for a few weeks and potentially screwing things up (even if only for a while) for those that do live there is another entirely.

Stop ruining the market even more!!!! Try to get yourself another business approach... instead of destroying what takes years to establish, and get some respect for the job you're doing. If you really wanna work cheap , and gain some money , there are other ways instead of getting and renting a red system and yourself.

Hey Sean, you know you're on the right track when you make the rest of the market uncomfortable. I'm going to join in with you and offer myself and a complete Red kit for $560 (equivalent of 350 gbp) for here in the U.S. during the rest of January.

We should be able to offer our services for a pack of crackers if we like. Good luck, man!

I agree Jeremy. We should be able to offer our services for whatever we like. I do however, feel that we should be able to respond - perhaps on another thread (because not "crapping on another's thread" is a wise policy indeed.) I also think that those who express their displeasure should strive to do so in a polite and constructive manner as possible.

If Sean wants to price his kit at that point what do you care?
I'd say more on the subject, but I'm out the door to sell my plasma to earn enough for a new Chimera.

Funny thing is I have never regretted not buying a RED, I said many times that rental rates would be very low, everybody just laughed at me. I suppose I get the last laugh.
