Hi!

First post around here. Hello to everybody!

The other day I had to shoot some black and white footage with my Red One, so I turned saturation to 0 with the camera menu. When I tried to take it back to 1, everything turns noisy and green.

I performed black shading and things like that, but nothing seems to work. When I take it back to B/W it looks ok.

Also, the footage is perfectly recorded. When I change saturation back in RedCine, its perfect.

Any ideas? This things kind of scare me.

Thanks!

Hi and welcome to the RED community! It's educating, helpful and fun around here.

My first guess would be to reset the look in the camera. If it doesn't help try checking RAW view. If none of this helps try reinstalling firmware. v32.0.3 is nice. If it still persists there might be a problem with the cable/monitor. Check SDI or HDMI outputs. I guess, if it's recorded ok and you can see you footage in RCX with normal hue/sat/noise etc, it should be monitoring problem, not sensor or the brain. But there is a chance for a software glitch that can be cured with look reset or firmware update.

Good luck!

Hi Serge!

Well, I tried all of that. Nothing works. The only way te get a clear image in the monitor is to turn it black and white and again.

Here is a picture of the "phenomenon". The lens cap is on, so the image should be black. Also the menus are greenish.
