  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Red One for sale on CL... bs

Scam guaranteed. Or it's stolen. A friend of mine got burned buying a Craig's List LA camera that ended up being in UK. They offered an escrow service - which was a legit service - but then wanted the money sent directly to a particular rep. That was the bogus part. Sent the money, never got the camera. Then two weeks later he sees the same ad in Seattle Craig's list.

Buyer really beware.

i replied, asked if thye forgot a zero.

they said they were in europe and needed the money and a phone number...

i said no thanks

Same scam from a couple of years ago when the Mac Pro's were first introduced. The scam was slick enough to mention local areas in Mahattan (village, upper west side, etc.) to add to the creditibility of the posting. But the seller was always on vacation or traveling in the UK at the time and would ask to have the funds sent to an escrow account, then arrange to have you pick up the machine locally. No machine ever existed!

Same MO- craigslist, fire sale price, escrow, can't meet you in person, etc.

I've seen REDs listed for sale in all sorts of strange places. Especially Asia. Before the shipments even ramped up.

Hmmm... they guy claims it is Red # 0281 (which was sold a while ago on eBay http://www.reduser.net/forum/showthread.php?t=7934) and says it is 4000 USD. He only accepts Western Union.

In other words: DO. NOT. TOUCH!

Edit: Coming to think of it, I have a batch of 100 brandnew Scarlets and 50 Epics, which I am happy to let go off if you send me 500USD/1750 USD via Western Union.

there shouldnt be a question about it. its a scam.
This is a popular scam.
I saw a 2007 honda civic hybrid with 9,000 miles on it on craigslist.. guy was asking 5 grand!! i thought it had to be fake so i emailed the guy. his story was.. he was a lieutenant in the US air force, stationed in uk or something.. and the car was in eu. He wanted me to transfer money through an escrow service who would then release the car.

oh.. and the 5000 covered shipping from EU to cali...

the best part was his email..
