Red One EoL?

When S35 Scarlet and Epic start shipping, does Red stop offering the Red One? This would make sense, as both cameras are based on newer technology.

From what I saw at IBC, I would rather use a Scarlet or Epic than a Red One. Obviousely owners of R1 may think differently, expect a lot of FUD.

My guess is that the demand for R1 will go down @ once the other cams are released, placing the R1 with a Mysterium-X sensor as a kind of bridging cam between Scarlet and Epic.

The R1 does not all of a sudden become worse, when the other cams are released, and if you consider it a heap, I'll gladly take over any dumps people want to dump on me... -

Yeah, anyone Downunder who feels their R1 is suddenly beneath them after Epic and Scarlet begin to ship, just send it to me to avoid embarrassment. I won't say anything if you don't.

R1s are worth $17k as a trade in. I suspect their resale value won't be diminish. If anything it'll go up.

A 5K Red-X, at the current price-point seems to be (as were stated previously) a wonderful "bridge cam" between the Scarlet and Epic line.
