Hi Jim and the RED team,

At this point, do you think it would be possible for RED ONE owners to bypass the upgrade to Mysterium X, wait a bit and then go directly to the Monstro upgrade in 2010?

I'm very happy with the current sensor. I do expect Mysterium X to be a slight improvement, but I also think Monstro will be the one that will really make a dramatic difference.

So - at least now - I'm thinking it would probably be better for me to use the current Mysterium for 2 years, forget about the X but go for Monstro when available.

Thanks!

would be nice to have the option of skipping X and going straight to Monstro.

Though I'm sure they wouldn't bother with X if it weren't a significant improvement so I probably won't be able to help myself.

This would be a nice option. It's going to take a while for easily available display ability to catch up to current RED recording ability. For some, it would be a good financial decision to wait until the two are nearer convergence. But, if the finances were available I would still do the Mysterium X... or even a full bore Epic for that matter while waiting for Monstro.

Isn't it funny how something that wasn't even known about 24 hours ago is now something you can't live without? :holloween:

Questions like this give me such a strong sense of job security.

I think right now it would be best to enjoy your camera and make a decision once the X starts shipping and at least some specs of the Monstro are known...

Agree! (over 2500 people are still waiting for Red One)
Enjoy and make great movies now.:weight_lift:
