Hi everyone,
This is my first post here (although I've been lurking for a while). Quick introduction: My name is Charles (Charlie) Parra and I am responsible for Product Development and support at Denecke, Inc.
As you can imagine, we have been receiving LOTS of calls regarding the SB-T settings when used on the RED. I read over the current op manual and found that the settings for the Ambient sync box are mention, but not the Denecke. So, I have modified the paragraph to reflect the SB-T (I hope no one minds):
When operating at 23.98, 24.00, 25.00 or 29.97 Project Time Bases, set the genlock signal generator to SMPTE 274 progressive scan format, at the same frame rate as the project TIME BASE. Do not use PsF or interlaced signals.
Using a Denecke SB-T, set dip switches as follows: Down (0), Down (0), (1080P)
Frame Rate
23.976fps -- Rotary Dial Position #4
24.00 fps -- Rotary Dial Position #3
25.00 fps -- Rotary Dial Position #2
29.97 fps -- Rotary Dial Position #1
When operating at 50.00 or 59.94 Project Time Bases, set the genlock signal generator to SMPTE 296 progressive scan format, at the same frame rate as the project TIME BASE.
Using a Denecke SB-T, set dip switches as follows: Up (1), Up (1), (720P)
Frame Rate
50.00 fps -- Rotary Dial Position #2
59.94 fps -- Rotary Dial Position #1
Note: After changing any of the above settings, power cycle the SB-T unit.
Connect the camera Genlock input to the SB-T VIDEO (VID) output using a BNC cable.
I hope this clears up some questions and by all means, please give us a call if there is anything else we can help with. Perhaps these settings can be included in the next version of the op manual? :turned:
Best Regards,
Charlie
P.S. Thanks to everyone who has contacted us with your kind words and support!
