  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

RED ONE confusion...

So, Jim, the Red One will still be in the line-up if these new camera's are released? Because depending on the cost of accessoires and limitations of a Scarlet, the Red One camera still looks like a very viable option in this line-up. Will it continue to be sold, even after trade ins and the new line-up?

Thanks,

And that is why we have provided an upgrade path for our RED ONE owners.

Jim, can you repeat what the upgrade path is again? I just can't seem to find this information and don't feel like going through thousands of posts...

Don't be confused that the RED ONE is obsolete or being replaced by Scarlet.

I'm trying not to be but I'm still really confused. If Scarlet is lighter and runs cooler and does 5K all I need to know then is whether I can get 120FPS at 2K. If not, you've got a point.

Recon sticky...

So... Jim. As it all happens, there will be quite a lot of used R1 bodies in your hands when new cameras come out. Are you going to sell refurbished versions? If so, how much? I'm planning on building my Red One Empire.

I'm certainly thinking waaaaaaaaaay ahead, but it's just too much fun.

He said at the top that Scarlet will only shoot one size and thats why its not a threat to the RED owners.

Hi Jim, could you provide an answer for this?

I don't have the budget for a RED camera, not even a Scarlet, but as a little upstarting company (now working with EX1 camera's) sometimes, things can go quickly. I think the Red One still is an interesting camera, regardless of your announcements yesterday (which were great either).
Best regards,

RED makes best digital cameras in the world !
But RED delivers too slow and releases too fast !!!
I think that this confuses most of people !

Thanks, Jim.

After this, for me, as a Previously panic'd Red One owner--it is "Sensor Upgrade or Epic or Die trying"

Long live the Red One and Let's get that Sensor Upgrade going! Nothing will Make Red One owners happy and feeling special like being the first to be able to upgrade their sensors.
