There's a bunch of huge, blockbuster films in production right now, or in post, shot on EPIC that will do huge box office - but I think the numbers below are pretty damn respectable. I also think that Johnny Depp is doing very well these days :)

These are some films that were shot on the RED ONE:

Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides= Worldwide: $1,043,871,802

Social Network = Worldwide: $224,920,315

Knowing = Worldwide: $183,593,586

The Book of Eli = Worldwide: $157,107,755

Contagion = Worldwide: $135,458,097

My Bloody Valentine 3D = Worldwide: $100,734,718

Gamer = Worldwide: $40,828,540

Our Idiot Brother = Worldwide: $24,816,118

Fair Game = Worldwide: $24,188,922

Beginners = Worldwide: $14,227,969

Winter's Bone = Worldwide: $13,831,503

Blue Valentine = Worldwide: $12,355,734

Margin Call = Worldwide: $10,110,212

In a Better World = Worldwide: $9,629,826

With all due respect, I really fail to see the point in this kind of thread.

I wasn't really trying to make a point - just sharing some data that I find impressive. Posting some information on the performance of some films that were shot with the Red One on a forum thread - "REDUSER > Shot on Red" seemed okay to me. Next time I post - I'll try to make a clear point :)

Mark, I apologize if my reply sounded too harsh. It was just a very personal and humble opinion about that kind of data, nothing more. I guess I'm just not interested in box office reports and I don't see a connection between any given camera and the amount of money the movies that were shot with it made, but that's me. :-)

Get ready for the next year ;) I expect some EPIC numbers...

BTW, You forgot to add District 9 = Worldwide: $210,819,611

Margin Call should have made more. One of my top two films of the year (the other is Hugo...) - it really probes the slippage between the interior and the exterior worlds of us human beings, using our current bank crises as the vehicle for a subtler and deeper exploration. Great film!

I like having this kind of information assembled in one place - thanks for the post - of course, a camera is just one element of larger productions, but for us smaller potatoes, it is nice to see these kinds of inroads and success...and fun to add some of these titles to my watchlist.

Yeah, pretty meaningless but fun to see. I think we're over having to prove that RED is playing with the big boys at this point. I will say awards for cinematography are probably more appropriate gauges of how great the camera is for filmmaking. I mean, I think Pirates would have made a bazzillion dollars had it been shot on a DVX100. Ha ha.
