I decided to break up the package I am just selling the body now. This is #1244. The body condition is good, just minor signs of use, This isn't a "rental" camera and it is still under warranty until April next year. I just got the camera back from Red who checked it out and re-collimated the PL mount. Also when this serial number comes up for i/pins and audio upgrade we can send it in.

Jim said he will buy this camera back from you for $17,500 if you buy an epic! For someone who wants multiple epic's this should be a no-brainier, you are basically getting paid $1,000 to use this camera until you upgrade to epic.

Includes:
Red One body #1244 in good condition
CF module

$16,500 firm please
($1,500 off)

To answer the question, "Why are you selling it?"

Honestly, I wasn't planning on buying a red one at first. Then I had a few longer jobs come up and so I bought it and everything went well. Being that I have a very basic camera package, I often rent the needed accessories per job, and sometimes its actually cheaper to rent a whole camera package with ET and Arri gear for cheaper than just renting the accessories for use on my camera- go figure! I only use this camera a few days per month now and I have been on a film binge. I have been wanting to get an aaton a-minima to use for some personal projects and b-roll, so thats what I am planning on doing. I am going to buy a used a-minima and then defer the rest of the money I get from the sale to pay off some other bills.

Like I said earlier, For me this inst a departure from the Red system, I really like the Red and I like working with the Red. I am still going to shoot on Red, it just wont be my camera that I use.

Weren't you in the group that received a credit for like $2500 worth of accessories? Would you throw those in? How long before your camera comes up for the board upgrade? Gotta say, a new one with more warranty time and all the upgrades already done is a lot more enticing.

Nope- I wasnt in that group. I dont know when the upgrade is going to be called in but as soon as it comes up, it will get upgraded. If a new one is more enticing to you, buy a new one.

Will you finance?

I don't know, Hunter, the baby is pretty cute. Trade the CF module back for the baby and we'll call it a deal? :)

Just kidding, of course, I couldn't handle a baby right now anyway, too much school work. Argh, I wish I could take you up on this deal but right now is pretty iffy for me. If things change, I'll let you know, $16,500 is the best deal I've seen so far, especially with the CF module practically thrown in.

Everyone should take into consideration that all you'll need to get the camera up and running is:

RED 5.6-inch LCD - $1,700
RED Power Pack - $1,450
1x 8gb RED CF Card - $199

and a Nikon Mount for $500 if you need it, but of course, some people are selling theirs right now for usually $100 off.

So, the total could be $3,349 without the Nikon Mount or $3,749-$3,849 with the Nikon Mount. Bringing the grand total to as little as $19,849 or as much as $20,349 for a fully working RED One, assuming you have a lens already that is. Heck, you could even shave off $165 if you piece together the power pack with only one battery and you could save more if you buy other accessories that pop up on REDUser's Marketplace.

Is this camera still available? any accessaries might available?
