The Scarlet 2/3 and FF35 are months away. and I couldn't wait anymore! I was planning on purchasing a RED ONE this friday... until about five minutes ago.
The newly announced HDR modes, slammed me back into RED purgatory. Thanks Jim.

At this point I am looking at getting a Scarlet 2/3" and a Scarlet FF35, but this could change to a FF35 and a RED ONE easily. It all hinges upon one question. What is the difference in quality between a fully kited out 2/3 scarlet and a Mysterium-X equipped RED ONE shooting at 3K (other then frame rates)?

Slight advantage to Scarlet S35 (no FF35 Scarlet) at 3K due to pixel size and sensor size (5.4 micron pixels vs. 3.3 micron). But the 2/3" performs incredibly well for a 2/3" sensor. Incredibly well... did I say that?

AH! WAITING HURTS!
As much as I hate saying this, take your time.
I'm sure the final product will be awesome!
At this point it's a 2/3" and a S35 for me, assuming my willpower holds up.

You could not described it better!

Sounds awesome about the 2/3" Scarlet! But are you saying in the first bit that the FF35 Scarlet is officially cancelled?

Yes, that leapt out from Jim's post at me too. So, is that what was meant? Surely this is big news if it's official.

The FF35 brains contains a sensor that isn't built yet and there for cant be compared to.

:Drogar-Smoke(DBG):I would expect, if it's still in the works, to not expect the FF35 Monstro offerings until at least 18 months after the S35 drops.

Beautiful thing about modularity is that you can spend 18 months making projects and making money waiting for that new brain. :sifone:

Scarlet S35...

Scarlet S35...

The Scarlet S35 camera is still going to be a 5K resolution camera, right?
