Hi all,

i've recently shot some footage with the wrong OLPF setting in camera. So i used redcine-x pro to generate OLPF-overrides.
All worked well with the export, until i tried to work with the footage. The original files are no problem to import/open/look/scrub through in various programs (redcine, premiere, media encoder).
The olpf-fixed files however take ages to import, 50% of the time the program just freezes and crashes.

Anyone got an idea what the problem/solution could be?

System is a maxed out late 2015 5K iMac (4Ghz i7, 32gb Ram, ATI R9M395x 4gb)
Files were shot on Dragon in 6K 25fps 180° RC4:1.
The overrides have the same data.

Thanks in advance!
Cheers
adrian

Adrian,

I have a similar problem with an incorrect OLPF setting. What was the process or procedure to create these new OLPF corrected R3D files. When I get this info I will create some and see if I have the same issue. Are the original file size the same as the new one?

Hey Tom. I don't believe the 3rd party OLPF are able to override the recorded color profile.

Bob,

Are you saying that as I used a third party OLPF with the DSMC2 camera I cannot change or use the OLPF override function in Redcine X ? I have tried and I find the option greyed out. Am I F*%@d ?

I didn't mess up my shots, but I did discover this limitation recently as I wanted to test the option in Redcine and found it greyed out.

hey guys,

sorry for coming back to this thread so late. I got caught up in other productions.

@ Tom - Processwise, i just generated the olpf-overide files via RED Cine-X. The option was not greyed out for me. I did not use a third party olpf however. We had the official red skin-tone-highlight-olpf mounted in camera, but the camera was set to the lowlight-olpf.
I have no experience with third party olpfs - sorry.

Stil no change in the lagginess of the files...

Thought that OLPF is set automatically in DSMC2...

I spoke with Support and they were kind enough to give me a special copy of Redcine X that will allow the Third Party OLPFs settings to be overridden. Happy days. Strangely yet to change any of the files as Post loves the look of the "incorrect" files but I do hope we don't get the issues Adrian is getting.
