Up for auction the original replacement lens mount for RED One / RED MX cameras for Nikon lenses. Located in London, UK, Europe
Made by RED themselves, this is an original product- not an aftermarket accessory.
Enables you to use Nikon AI, and AIS lenses on your RED directly without any fiddly adapters. But these need to have manual iris rings. No iris control is possible with this "dumb" mount.
!THIS IS NOT AN ADAPTER, THIS MOUNT REPLACES THE ORIGINAL PL MOUNT! CAMERA NOT INCLUDED! CAMERA SHOWN FOR DEMONSTRATION PURPOSES ONLY.
Listed on Ebay: Original Red Camera Nikon plate includes the original screws and an allen key. It is considered an end user do-able action by Red to swap the mounts but preferably in a controlled environment (ie indoors on a desk, not out and abut on a beach!). When you unscrew the PL mount you will need to disconnect the small Cooke/I connector wire and tuck that into the groove that is there and make sure stays in place while you put the Nikon plate on (there is a matching hollow for the connector on the back of the Nikon plate). If a bit of wire creeps out of place it can affect the focus plane. You do not use the screws that came out with the PL mount as they are longer. Use the screws with the Nikon mount to attach.
In very good used condition. All the rear spring leaves are intact. It is worthwhile to occasional tweak them with a very thin slice of rubber in-between the leaves to make sure the fit remains tight.
