  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

RED MX still rocking on the SEGWAY

Thanks Clark! I haven't forgotten about you. I should be able to get a drive to you by the end of next week.

very well done!

No, they are simply the transport of the camera. There's much more to it than just the Segway.

Great stuff Lee. Loved the circle around the guy walking and then the walking to the car and following it.

Thanks Mark - EPIC is going to add an entirely new look to it. Still waiting for that but RED MX is still doing a nice job.

OK…I added the KS-8 Gyro package to the Segway rig and believe that I finally have it down to a science. I've been working on this for about 4 months…still have one more trick to try but I believe that we're there. http://www.vimeo.com/27400864

Lee thought your previous post stabilized footage was steady and solid...curious why did you feel the need to add the gyros..?
Also are you useing the smooth i2 wheels/tires for both exteriors and interiors..?
Are you just normally an easyrig shooter over the steadicam...or is there specific reason why you use it on Segway..?.
..ok..thanks alot for the update here on your process...

nice moves! love that forsyth stuff, and the last shot on abercorn is really cool. let me know next time you're in savannah!

I'll be there October 5th & 6th shooting downtown. I'll be ready for a beer by the end of the day.

Superb Work Lee !!!

...so stable and clean.

Keep up the good work!

Antoine

The gyros allow me to deliver footage that's slick as glass without post smoothing software. Smoothcam is good but it's not perfect and not every shot will work with it.....

Thanks for sharing all of this...it looks great...but why go with dual gyros ? do they just always work better in pairs..would seem fairly heavy..?
